Samsung C&T and POSCO E&C Secure Major Remodeling Contracts in Seoul

Samsung C&T has successfully secured a major remodeling contract for the Banpo Prugio apartments located in the Seocho District of Seoul. This project, conducted in collaboration with POSCO E&C, underscores Samsung C&T's strong foothold in the South Korean construction industry.

On October 24, 2026, during a general meeting of the remodeling union, Samsung C&T was chosen as the contractor with an impressive 159 votes in favor, representing 94.6% of the 168 participating members. As the sole bidder, the company will proceed with the project under a private contract.

The Banpo Prugio complex, which consists of three buildings and houses 237 households, was completed in 2000. The estimated cost for the remodeling project is around 125 billion won. Samsung C&T plans to implement a new remodeling method called "Next Remodeling," which preserves the existing structural frames while updating the interiors and exteriors of the units and common areas.

In addition to Samsung C&T's success, POSCO E&C has also been awarded a substantial remodeling project for the Isu Shindonga Complex 4 apartments in Dongjak District, valued at 526.4 billion won. POSCO E&C received 504 votes in favor, or 92.6% of the total 544 votes cast during the union's meeting.

This project will transform the existing eight buildings housing 912 households into a new complex with eight buildings accommodating 1,048 households. The redevelopment will feature modern amenities including a fitness club, library, and botanical garden cafe, among others, and is set to enhance the living experience for future residents.
