Samsung E&A reported a significant 37.7% increase in net profit for Q3 2023, reflecting strong project growth and improved profitability.

Samsung Engineering & Construction (E&A) has announced a remarkable 37.7% increase in net profit for the third quarter of 2023. The company attributes this growth to the successful execution of large-scale projects and enhanced profitability measures.

For the quarter ending in September, Samsung E&A's net profit reached 216.7 billion won ($163.2 million), up from 157.4 billion won in the same period last year. This surge in profit was complemented by a more than doubling of operating profit, which soared to 500.6 billion won from 176.55 billion won a year earlier.

Sales also experienced a significant boost, rising 45.8% to 2.91 trillion won compared to 1.99 trillion won in Q3 2022. The company reported that the revenue from its large petrochemical and advanced manufacturing projects began to contribute positively to its financial results during this quarter.

A spokesperson for Samsung E&A highlighted that effective cost management strategies and the integration of artificial intelligence and robotics into their operations have played a crucial role in enhancing productivity and profitability. The company has also raised its annual targets, now aiming for an operating profit of 1.4 trillion won and new orders worth 19 trillion won.

Furthermore, Samsung E&A plans to enhance shareholder value through a share buyback program worth 780 billion won, alongside the cancellation of shares valued at 690 billion won. This strategic move aims to bolster investor confidence and reflect the company's strong financial performance.
