Doosan Robotics used CES 2026 in Las Vegas to signal a strategic shift, presenting a lineup of AI-powered robotic systems the South Korean company describes as the start of a new chapter. The firm, part of Doosan Group, exhibited from January 6 to 9 at Booth 5840 in the West Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center.
The centerpiece was the Scan & Go Autonomous Robotic Solution, which collected two 2026 CES Innovation Awards, including a "Best of Innovation" honor in the artificial intelligence category. Built for large-scale composite repair, the system combines cognitive learning, physics-based intelligence and laser-based 3D vision to read complex surfaces in real time and generate optimized tool paths directly from point-cloud data, removing the need for CAD modeling or manual coding.
Mounted on an autonomous forklift, Scan & Go is designed to move across large and irregular structures such as aircraft fuselages, wind turbine blades and building facades. With minimal setup it can perform sanding, grinding and inspection tasks, which the company says helps manufacturers speed up production, cut labor needs and improve quality and safety. The solution is being developed with Maple Advanced Robotics Inc. (MARI), a Canada-based partner specializing in AI-driven robotic platforms.
Doosan Robotics also demonstrated an AI-powered depalletizing system that uses NVIDIA cuMotion for real-time motion planning. The setup pairs 3D vision-based box recognition, text recognition, obstacle avoidance and automatic path generation, allowing it to identify boxes, dodge obstacles and plan optimized movements on the fly — capabilities aimed at making logistics operations more flexible and efficient.
The company frames these products as part of a broader plug-and-play strategy that bundles collaborative robot hardware, software and AI into ready-to-run packages designed for fast installation and immediate use. "We're moving into the next phase of the company," said Kevin Kim, chief executive of Doosan Robotics, pointing to partnerships with industry leaders such as NVIDIA to address challenges across multiple sectors.
Earlier in the year, Doosan Robotics announced its transformation into an AI robotic solutions company, a move aimed at securing new growth engines and strengthening its global technological edge. The firm, which supplies collaborative robots to customers in 45 countries across the automotive, electronics, semiconductor, logistics and energy industries, said it plans to launch an AI Palletizing Solution in the first half of the year.
