SK Telecom, South Korea's largest mobile carrier, is making significant strides in integrating artificial intelligence (AI) into its workplace. The company aims to leverage AI technology to enhance productivity and achieve measurable gains in efficiency.
Over 7,500 employees are currently utilizing AI agents each month, with more than 4,000 having developed their own tools. These AI agents assist in various tasks, including report preparation and mobile network data analysis, showcasing the company's commitment to innovation.
The initiative, which began in March, seeks to expand the use of AI tools across entire departments, addressing challenges such as accessing company databases and managing sensitive information. Kim In-soo, head of SK Telecom's AI Board, noted that while many individual tasks have been automated, more complex issues requiring company-wide support are emerging.
CEO Jung Jae-hun has outlined plans to utilize productivity gains from AI to redeploy employees into growth sectors. Despite the promising developments, SK Telecom has yet to disclose specific figures regarding the financial impact of its AI initiatives on overall productivity.
