Hyundai Mobis anticipates a historic operating profit exceeding 1 trillion won in Q4 2026.
Hyundai Mobis has announced its expectation to achieve a record quarterly operating profit of over 1 trillion won (approximately $749 million) in the fourth quarter of 2026. This milestone reflects significant financial growth for the company, driven by improved manufacturing conditions and robust after-sales service profitability.
During a recent earnings conference call, Kim Do-hyung, the executive vice president for finance, highlighted that this would mark the first time in the company's history that it surpasses the 1 trillion won mark in a single quarter. Despite facing challenges such as rising semiconductor prices and a factory fire in India, Hyundai Mobis has managed to maintain a positive trajectory.
In the third quarter of 2026, Hyundai Mobis reported an operating profit of 914.1 billion won, a 17.2% increase from the same period last year. The company has also been making strides in its robotics division, planning to produce prototype actuators for Boston Dynamics' Atlas robot starting in November.
Looking ahead, Hyundai Mobis aims to enhance its capabilities in robotics and continue its focus on core businesses, including a planned spinoff of its lamp unit. This strategic move is intended to redirect resources towards more promising areas of growth, reinforcing the company's commitment to innovation and profitability.
