Hana Financial Group is finalizing CEO candidates for its six major affiliates, enhancing leadership.
Hana Financial Group announced on October 26 that it has finalized the list of candidates for the CEO positions at six of its key affiliates, including Hana Bank, Hana Securities, and Hana Card. This decision comes about four weeks after the group initiated its succession planning process at the end of September.
During a recent meeting of the group Nominating Committee, the shortlist of candidates was narrowed down to three potential leaders for each affiliate. The committee plans to conduct thorough interviews and presentations for the final candidates, with the goal of selecting one CEO for each entity by early December.
Won Sook-yeon, Chair of the Nominating Committee, emphasized the commitment to a transparent and fair selection process, stating, "An independent committee centered on outside directors will carry out the recommendation process transparently and fairly."
The authority of the Hana Bank Nominating Committee has been strengthened in this round of appointments, aligning with the financial authorities' governance best practices. Starting in 2024, the committee will have the power to recommend candidates for the bank president position.
In addition to the six affiliates currently in focus, CEO appointments for seven other affiliates, including Hana Insurance and Hana Asset Trust, will also be addressed by the end of the year.
