Samsung Biologics is making significant progress in acquiring PolyPeptide Group AG.
Samsung Biologics, through its subsidiary Samsung Peptide AG, has reported a strong response to its public tender offer for PolyPeptide Group AG. The provisional interim results indicate that 87.92% of PolyPeptide's share capital participated in the offer, meeting key conditions for the acquisition.
This high acceptance rate signals strong shareholder confidence in the strategic fit between PolyPeptide's peptide-focused capabilities and Samsung Biologics' extensive biomanufacturing platform. If successful, the acquisition could reshape the competitive landscape in the peptide contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO) market.
The tender offer is subject to customary conditions, including regulatory approvals and the election of Samsung-nominated directors at an upcoming extraordinary general meeting. An additional acceptance period is planned for late October 2026, allowing remaining shareholders more time to participate.
With this acquisition, Samsung Biologics aims to enhance its position in the growing market for complex biologics and metabolic disease treatments, leveraging PolyPeptide's expertise and facilities across Europe, the U.S., and India.
