Bepza has introduced dedicated desks to enhance investment services for Chinese, South Korean, and Japanese investors.

The Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (Bepza) has launched dedicated desks specifically designed to attract investment from Chinese, South Korean, and Japanese investors. This initiative aims to improve investor services and strengthen economic ties with these countries.

The desks were inaugurated during a 'Meet the Investors' event held in Dhaka, which saw participation from over 100 local and foreign investors, as well as representatives from business chambers of the three nations. The move is part of Bepza's strategy to provide tailored information and assistance to both existing and prospective investors.

Major General Mohammad Moazzem Hossain, the Executive Chairman of Bepza, emphasized that this initiative is intended to address the concerns of current investors while also attracting new investments. Despite global economic challenges, Bepza successfully signed investment agreements with 36 enterprises in the fiscal year 2025-26.

Bepza has reported that exports from its zones reached $8.41 billion in the last fiscal year, reflecting a 2.22% increase compared to the previous year. The authority is also promoting sustainable industrial practices and has improved services such as power supply and healthcare facilities for investors.

The establishment of these dedicated desks is seen as a significant step towards enhancing the investment landscape in Bangladesh, particularly from key Asian economies. Investors are encouraged to explore opportunities in newly designated economic zones, which aim to diversify and expand the industrial base of the country.
